Workshop on Knowledge Management. From Digital Literacy to Data Scientist
In the early sixties, data science was almost automatically associated with emerging computer science. Gradually, after this moment, the new field started to be assimilated to statistics. In our perspective, this representation is outdated: data science cannot be understood from a single point of view, it blends a multiplicity of disciplines and activities like data collection, data modeling, and decision making.
Scope
The main purpose of the workshop is to investigate the multiplicity of roles and functions assigned to data science in correlation with the recent knowledge management strategies. In this regard, we intend to analyze and explore the new theoretical approaches of scientific research in relation to eLearning and systematic professional development. This is the reason we assumed to gather under specialized panel subjects that focus on data literacy in connection with the model of hybrid library and new professional profiles such as metadata librarian and librarian.
Organizers
The workshop is organized by the "Carol I" Central University Library in Bucharest represented by Dr. Mireille Radoi, General Director of "Carol I" Central University Library and Professor dr. Doina Banciu as member of the Scientific Board of "Carol I" Central University Library.
